New Faces New Voices (NFNV) Uganda
New Faces New Voices (NFNV) Uganda Chapter is a not-for-profit Women in Finance Organization duly incorporated in Uganda as a company limited by guarantee in August 2013. NFNV Uganda is affiliated to a Pan-African organisation, Graca Machel Trust – South Africa with 35 women networks running in 15 countries in Africa including: Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt, Rwanda, Zambia, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, DRC, Uganda.
NFNV Uganda focuses on increasing access to finance and working towards mitigating existing bottlenecks partly accentuated by minimal knowledge of financial consumer rights. Further still, the organization works with supporting entities to expand the participation and influence of women in the financial sector. This is driven by the recognition that although rural women in Africa constitute 80% of rural labour force in the area of agriculture, they are also actively involved in SMEs especially trade; women are largely left out on accessing financial services. Women require finances if they are to grow their agricultural and business ventures.
